Man dies after serious crash, Townsville road near Bruce Hwy closed

A man has died after a serious two-vehicle crash on a Townsville road near the Bruce Highway at Garbutt on Monday morning.
Initial police investigations suggest about 2.30am a Volkswagon Amarok travelled through the intersection of Dalrymple Road and Duckworth Street and collided with a Mazda 3.
A 50-year-old man driving the Mazda 3 died at the scene.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 25-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.
Two passengers, one from each vehicle, were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The intersection is expected to be closed for several hours as investigations continue.
Police said delays are expected with diversions in place.
