Man dies after being pulled from surf at Surfers Paradise

A man has died in a suspected drowning incident on the Gold Coast.

Surf lifesavers and paramedics spent more than 20 minutes desperately trying to save the man, aged in his 50s, after he was brought to shore off The Esplanade at Surfers Paradise just before 5.50pm Queensland time on Monday.
