Man charged with murder of young mum found dead at Gold Coast home

Initial reports suggested there was an explosion at the property before Ms Wilkinson’s body was found.

A police spokesman said formal identification of the 27-year-old’s body was continuing and the process may take some time, however family members have confirmed Ms Wilkinson’s identity to Brisbane Times.

Detective Superintendent Chris Ahearn said earlier on Tuesday at a press conference that it was a “very confronting” scene.

He said one of the lines of inquiry police were following was whether the man and woman were known to each other and potentially in a previous relationship.
