Man charged over Brisbane River boat crash that led to woman’s death

A Queensland man has been charged after his aluminium dinghy allegedly crashed into a private jetty last year, leading to a woman’s death.
Police claim the dinghy, with four people on board, hit the jetty at the rear of a house on Laurel Avenue in Chelmer, near the intersection with Jarrott Street, about 4.40pm on November 4.

A 21-year-old Ipswich woman died at the scene. Two men and a child were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A Thorneside man, 46, has been charged with dangerous operation of a vessel causing death, driving a vessel without a licence, and failing to provide a blood specimen.
