Man blows twice the legal limit after speeding through school zone
A man’s licence was suspended on the spot after police in a Brisbane school zone allegedly caught him doing 11 kilometres over the speed limit, before he blew double the legal alcohol limit.
The 39-year-old was pulled over on Gowan Road in Stretton in Brisbane’s south on Wednesday, the first day back for most students, just before 8am.
It will be alleged he was doing 51km/h in the designated 40km/h school zone.
It will also be alleged the driver blew over the limit roadside and was then taken to Crestmead Police Station where he blew .112 – more than double the legal limit.
