Man arrested over 2007 death of Melbourne woman Joanne Howell

Police have arrested a man over the death of Melbourne woman Joanne Howell, more than 13 years after she was bashed and strangled to death.
Ms Howell, 51, died on April 21, 2007 after being attacked in her Hughesdale home.
Her former partner — a 52-year-old man who was living with her at the time — discovered her body and called police.
He was arrested at the scene and subsequently released, but was not charged with anything related to the death of Ms Howell.
An inquest into the matter in 2011 found that her former partner was likely to have been involved in her death.
Police last month appealed for information on the “solvable” death, saying they were “on the cusp” of solving the case.
