Man allegedly doused dog, house in petrol while threatening partner
A man who allegedly doused himself, a dog and a house in petrol while his partner and children were inside was jumped on by police officers as he held a cigarette lighter, police said.
The 43-year-old Coomera man was charged over the incident at the Gold Coast on Sunday, when petrol was allegedly poured throughout a home on O’Reilly Drive, forcing police to declare an emergency.

Acting Chief Superintendent Geoff Sheldon said the accused doused himself and the house in petrol, while his partner and two adult children, and one of their girlfriends, were in the house.
“He even showered the dog in petrol and threatened to light the whole lot up,” Acting Chief Superintendent Sheldon said.
