Man accused of Ingham murder intends to fight charges, lawyer says

A 24-year-old man accused of murdering another young man on the street in a north Queensland town intends to fight the charges, a court hears.
Police alleged Caleb Rutherford stabbed Josh Hyde in the stomach while the 20-year-old was walking with two women near Ingham’s town centre late on Sunday night.
It is alleged Mr Rutherford had approached the trio and fought with Mr Hyde before the stabbing.
Mr Hyde died a short time later in hospital and a homicide investigation was launched.
After a four-day police search, Mr Rutherford handed himself in at the Ingham police station on Thursday morning and was charged with murder later that day.
