Major blow for Australians in UK after UAE blacklisted by British Government because of coronavirus strain

The travel plans of many Australians attempting to flee the coronavirus-stricken United Kingdom are in disarray after the British Government banned flights from a major international hub.

From midnight tonight (AEDT) the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be added to the UK’s “red list” of coronavirus hotspots.

British authorities said direct flights to the UAE had been banned because of concerns over the spread of a virulent and potentially vaccine-resistant COVID-19 variant first…
