Mackay Sugar fined $100,000 after accident severs worker’s fingers
A major sugar processor has been fined $100,000 after a worker severed three fingertips at work due to hazardous and “poorly maintained” equipment.
Mackay Sugar pleaded guilty in the Mackay Magistrates Court to one charge of breaching workplace health and safety obligations in May this year.
