Lynas says China flexing its rare earths muscle – The Australian Financial Review
All Western users of rare earths would be alert to China’s ban on Lockheed Martin, says Lynas boss Amanda Lacaze.
In April, the DoD notified Lynas of its intention to award the company a phase one contract to help with the building of the heavy rare earths separation facility in Texas, which analysts expect to cost about $US30 million ($42 million).
However, the DoD process was put on hold in May after Lynas faced a backlash from a powerful group of Republican foreign-policy hawks who raised concerns about large parts of Lynas supply chain being based in Australia and Malaysia.
