Last week Racing Victoria took the somewhat ironic, if not extraordinary step of announcing they weren’t introducing – as they called it – a “whip for safety reason only” trial series – when they hadn’t actually announced that they were.
Of course, that followed on from comments in this column that such a series had not only been mooted but planned for with increased prizemoney across the statewide series to a final showcase on All-Star Mile day at The Valley in March.
