A love lockdown has seen the number of STIs reported over the last three months plummet compared to the same time last year.
Covid-19 restrictions like social distancing have meant the number of sexually transmitted infections reported to the HSE have dropped by a fifth.
The STI figures, obtained by Newstalk radio, show there were 1,764 cases of chlamydia reported to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre in the third quarter of 2020, a drop of 489 cases on 2019.
