Tony “Merto” Mertis has played for three decades, and at 52-years-old, he isn’t ready to hang up the boots just yet.

A beloved member of the Doveton Eagles since 1990, forward Tony “Merto” Mertis played his 450th game at the weekend.
But the milestone was bittersweet his footy-loving father passed away only a month earlier.
