Glenn Maxwell’s big hitting not only destroyed the New Zealand bowling in Australia’s T20 victory in Wellington, it left a seat looking decidedly second-hand.
Maxwell took 28 runs off a Jimmy Neesham over, with one of the two sixes he hit smashing the back of a plastic seat at Sky Stadium.
Stadium boss Shane Harmon tweeted that the damaged seat wouldn’t go to waste, but would be auctioned off to raise money for the Wellington Homeless Women’s Trust.
