How did life on Earth start? Researchers say it could’ve been billions and billions of lightning strikes unleashing the planet’s phosphorus.

Lightning strikesperhaps a quintillion of them, occurring over a billion yearsmay have provided sparks of life for the early Earth, according to new research.
The study contends that over time, these bolts from the blue unlocked the phosphorus necessary for the creation of biomolecules that would be the basis of life on the planet.
