Liberal cabinet minister Karen Andrews raises prospect of female MP quotas, says she’s had a ‘gutful’

Industry Minister Karen Andrews says it is time for the Liberal Party to seriously consider introducing quotas, to try and get more women into parliament.
Ms Andrews says she has had a “gutful” of disrespect and poor treatment of women in Parliament and in other workplaces.
A male Coalition staffer was last night sacked after allegedly performing a lewd sex act on the desk of a female Liberal MP.
“Continuing the way we have, to attract women, has clearly not been anywhere near as successful as it needs to be,” she told ABC.
“The negative to quotas is it supports the narrative that women are only there because they’re a number.”
The staffer was sacked after he shared a video of himself committing a lewd sex act on the desk of a female MP.
