The Last Stand is the only remaining map from Left 4 Dead that is unavailable in Left 4 Dead 2. It is now coming out through a collaborative effort by the community, for the community.
L4D2 still has a strong, active community
L4D2 is now 11-years-old, but it still gets a few updates far in between. Many work as security patches, while others are bug fixes. Much of the remaining lifespan of the game comes from its still very active community.
