‘Lazy and full of yourself’: Brutal Bennett meeting Sailor says made his NRL career – Fox Sports
Rugby league legend Wendell Sailor has revealed his brutal first meeting with supercoach Wayne Bennett and the burn that spurred him on to succeed.
Sailor was only 18 years old and had already failed to land a spot with the Steelers and the Sharks, while his childhood favourites Manly couldnt fit him in either.
He was urged to go up to Brisbane and try his luck at Red Hill, even though he had been told the Broncos werent interested either.
