Late 1970s footage of traffic on the old Hornibrook Bridge during construction of the Houghton Highway.
Opened on 20 December 1979, the Houghton Highway replaced the now mostly demolished Hornibrook Bridge – known as the ‘Humpity Bump’ for its buckled road surface – as the main connection between the cities of Brisbane and Redcliffe.
