Last US troops leave Afghanistan’s Bagram airbase following almost 20 years since start of conflict sparked by 9/11

After nearly 20 years since beginning a war to oust the Taliban and hunt down the al-Qaeda perpetrators of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on America, the US military has left Bagram Airfield, two US officials said.
