You can forgive the consumer sector analysts for being grumpy about Coca-Cola Amatil’s takeover.
The only good news in the meantime was Foster’s wine spin-off, Treasury Wine Estates, which has proved too expensive for potential acquirers and will record one decade on the ASX-boards next year.
So now the beverages analysts often cover the whole consumer retail sector and some have even had to pick up other rounds such as gaming, just to keep their bosses happy.
