Lack of federal heavy hitters heading west for WA election, just another point of difference

During a state election campaign, it is not unusual to see a convoy of federal politicians heading west to involve themselves.

A familiar face can bolster and champion the campaign messages and rally the party faithful.

But Western Australia’s 2021 campaign is proving to be a very different beast on almost every level.

There has been a noticeable lack of leaders make their way across the Nullarbor throughout the campaign, with the only visit of significance, by Federal Labor leader Anthony Albanese, now raising eyebrows.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison is a notable absentee from the WA election campaign.(
