King tide swallows beaches, flooding and fallen trees knock out power
From 9am on Saturday to 9am on Monday, Brisbane received about 70 millimetres, Mount Glorious had an estimated 165mm, while North Stradbroke Island recorded more than 140mm.
In the Gold Coast hinterland near the NSW border, Upper Springbrook copped 695mm during the weekend and Binna Burra was hit with more than 370mm.
The Moreton Bay suburbs of Beerburrum and Mount Mee recorded just over 150mm, while the Sunshine Coast communities of Landsborough and Maleny received 179mm and 258mm respectively.
Footage taken at Dicky Beach on Monday morning showed the king tide swallowing the stretch of sand and cutting off morning walkers.
