Kennett backflips on presidency plan – The Age
Jeff Kennett has backflipped on his plan to step aside from the Hawthorn presidency at year’s end, flagging his intention to stand for another term at the helm of the club.

In a letter to Hawthorn members on Wednesday, Kennett said that having given the issue much consideration, he had changed his mind.
“I wish to inform you, that after a lot of thought, soul searching and discussion I have decided to offer myself for re-election as your president at the AGM in December,” Kennett wrote.
Had this year progressed as per normal, I would have stood down.
