Kelly Preston death is John Travolta’s second family tragedy after losing son Jett – 7NEWS.com.au

Tributes have begun to pour in for John Travoltas wife, actress Kelly Preston, who died on Sunday after a two-year battle with breast cancer.
Preston, who married Travolta in 1991, was 57.

Its the second tragedy in the family, following the death of Travolta and Prestons 16-year-old son Jett after a seizure during a family holiday in the Bahamas in 2009, aged just 16.
The death touched off a court case after an ambulance driver and his attorney were accused of trying to extort $US25 million ($A36 million) from the actors otherwise they would release sensitive information about their sons death.
Travolta testified during a criminal trial that ended in a mistrial, and was prepared to testify a second time, but decided to stop pursuing the case.

He cited the severe strain the case and his sons death had caused the family.
Preston and Travolta – who first met on the set of the 1988 film The Experts – then returned to acting.
Prestons first role back after her sons death was in the Nicholas Sparks adaptation, The Last Song, which starred Miley Cyrus and her future husband, Liam Hemsworth.
Preston and Travolta had two other children, daughter Ella Bleu in 2000 and son Benjamin in 2010.
They last starred together in the 2018 film Gotti with Travolta playing John Gotti and Preston taking the role of the crime boss wife Victoria.
Oscar winner Russell Crowe tweeted that he met Preston first in late 92, I think, adding: In 1995 we auditioned together for Breaking Up, Salma Hayek got that gig.
Crowe said he hadnt seen Preston much, but when I did, she was always the same sparkly-eyed gem.
Maria Shriver, journalist and wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger, wrote she was shocked by this sad news.
Kelly was such a bright loving soul, a talented actress, and a loving mom and wife, she wrote on Twitter.
My heart breaks for her family who have already known such sadness and grief. Join me in sending them love and strength.
Singer Ricky Davila wrote: My friend just woke me up calling me about Kelly Preston passing away from breast cancer.
I honestly didnt believe it until I came back online. So heartbreaking.
