Joint investigation puts the freeze on ‘ice’ coffee importation.
In August and September 2020, Australian Border Force officers made two separate detections of methamphetamine hidden inside coffee sachets and a metal canister labelled ‘Cooling Powder’.
The detections were referred to Australian Federal Police and the ensuing investigation led to the arrest of a 23-year-old Perth man, charged as the alleged facilitator in the importations of the drugs from Malaysia to WA.
