Winona Ryder will tell the High Court this week that Johnny Depp is an extremely caring guy who was never abusive while they were Hollywoods most powerful couple.
The actress will give evidence on behalf of the star of Pirates of the Caribbean in a libel claim over allegations by Amber Heard, Depps former wife, that he repeatedly attacked her.
Depp, 57, is suing Dan Wootton, the executive editor of The Sun, and the publisher of the newspaper over an article in 2018 that described him as a wife beater. Lawyers for The Sun had tried to block Ryder and Vanessa Paradis, another of Depps former partners, from giving evidence.
