Jodie Turner-Smith has just scored the lead role in a new series about Anne Boleyn.
Described by Variety, who reported the news, as a “a three-part psychological drama,” the new show is being made by Channel 5 in the United Kingdom, backed by ViacomCBS. Turner-Smith will costar alongside I May Destroy You’s Paapa Essiedu in the series.
Boleyn was Henry VIII’s second wife, the Queen of England between 1533 and 1536, and the mother of Queen Elizabeth I. She was executed on May 19, 1536.
