Jesse de Beaux faces trial for alleged stabbing murder of Cara Hales in Perth suburb of Munster

A woman who was fatally stabbed by a man who broke into her home in the middle of the day tried to ring her housemate for help when she heard an intruder was inside, WA’s Supreme Court has been told.

Cara Hales, 30, was stabbed dozens of times in the neck, chest and arms after 25-year-old Jesse John de Beaux broke into her Munster home in Perth’s south by smashing a window on December 28, 2018.
Mr de Beaux is now on trial for murder but has pleaded not guilty, arguing he was not of sound mind at the time.
