Hayabusa2s sample return capsule is expected to land in Woomera, Australia in a 10 minute window that runs from 12:47 to 12:57 EST (17:47 to 17:57 UTC) today, 5 December — or 6 December local time at Woomera.
The craft is returning not just asteroid surface material, but subsurface material (at first) as well, and will be met by Japanese scientists after completing its six-year mission to the asteroid 162173 Ryugu.
