Jawoyn traditional owners build job opportunities for Katherine’s Indigenous people

Gregory Maroney has an enviable commute — a boat trip up the Northern Territory’s spectacular Nitmiluk Gorge followed by a walk along the national park’s new mountain bike trails.

He’s a labourer working on the new bike trails as part of the multimillion-dollar upgrade of Nitmiluk National Park near Katherine.

“I feel really good working up here. I feel proud,” said Mr Maroney, from Rockhole community.
