Jarryd Hayne could lose Dally M medals after sexual assault conviction, says Peter V’landys – Wide World of Sports
‘It’s not hard to take them away’
ARLC boss Peter V’landys says consideration will be given to stripping Jarryd Hayne of his Dally M medals following his rape conviction, but not before his appeal is heard.
Hayne was yesterday sentenced to five years and nine months in jail, with a non-parole period of three years and eight months, after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a Newcastle woman on the night of the 2018 NRL grand final.
The judge found that Hayne knew the woman was not consenting, but assaulted her regardless.
