Japan extends COVID-19 state of emergency – The West Australian
Japan’s COVID-19 state of emergency for Tokyo and several other regions has been extended by a further month.
Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga has announced Japan will extend the coronavirus state of emergency in Tokyo and some other regions until early March.
“We would like to put an end to the spread of the coronavirus at any cost,” Suga said.
“The number of those infected has been on the decline. We need to continue the trend and decrease the numbers of those hospitalised and people with severe symptoms.”
