Jacques dodges Rio’s toughest question – The Australian Financial Review
Chief executive Jean-Sebastien Jacques batted away questions about the appalling Juukan Gorge incident as he released one of the strongest half-year results in the company’s history.
Later, in an interview with The Australian Financial Review, Jacques said the COVID-19 pandemic had really only affected Chinas services sector.
“The impact on China was primarily on the service sector, but the heavy industry or the industry outside of services didn’t slow down at all,” he says.
“And today it’s working at full speed. And the reason why it’s working at full speed is there are of so many months of restocking, there are so many months of stimulus package and so on and so forth.
