‘It’s not right’: All-Australian wing and forward selections leave fans perplexed – Fox Sports
Players, fans and commentators have been left puzzled by several All-Australian selections where midfielders have been named out of position while genuine wingmen and half-forwards have been overlooked.
Bulldogs on-baller Jack Macrae and Geelong midfielder Cam Guthrie on Thursday night were selected in the two All-Australian wing positions as the league unveiled the 22-man team during the inaugural AFL Awards ceremony.
While the pair had outstanding seasons Macrae was ranked third in the league for average disposals while Guthrie had a career-best campaign they spent little game time in the All-Australian positions they were ultimately selected in.
