‘It’s going to get messy’: Origin CEO – The Australian Financial Review
Chief executive Frank Calabria is expecting some coal power generators to be hard hit by the ‘unsustainable’ downturn in wholesale power prices.

The comments come after Energy Security Board chair Kerry Schott warned earlier this week that coal power plants are going broke and some risked closing four or five years before the end of their rated life. Brett Redman, CEO of Origins rival AGL Energy, last week said some black coal power generators were struggling to cover their cash costs.
