“It’s a tragedy”: Witness recalls moments before 14 year-old-killed in crash in Hobart’s northern suburbs

Police in Hobart are still searching for a motorbike involved in a crash which killed a 14-year-old boy in the city’s north on Christmas night.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Harbord Road in Claremont, about 9:30pm.

Police say the child died at the scene, and the motorcycle he was riding had been removed from the crash site by an unknown person before emergency services arrived.

The cause of the crash is yet to be determined and police are calling on anyone with information to come forward.

“A 14-year-old person has had their life tragically cut short,” said Acting Inspector Stewart Cashion.
