“It was hard work”: Garry Lyon’s brutal assessment of Friday night footy – SEN
“We could’ve left at quarter time…”

Garry Lyon has labelled Collingwoods win over Hawthorn on Friday night as hard to watch.
After the Pies kicked five goals to one in the first quarter, only four more goals were scored between both sides for the remainder of the match.
Lyon said the game was over as a contest after one quarter as Collingwood eventually cruised to a 32-point win.
We couldve left at quarter time and saved ourselves a bit of pain, to be perfectly frank, Lyon said on AFL Nation.
It was 25 points the margin at quarter time and the damage was done, from that point on it was hard work. Three goals to two in three quarters is hard to watch anyway you look at it.
Lyon heaped praised on a number of Collingwood players, including debutants Will Kelly and Atu Bosenavulagi.
Collingwoods system stood up really well, he said.
Theyd be thrilled with the players they introduced, the changes they made into this sidetheyd be rapt. Will Kellys night ended really badly (through injury) but he showed glimpses of something really exciting. Hes the ideal shape for a modern footballer.
(Atu) Bosenavulagi was exciting, hes got real touch and poise, hes going to be a player.
(Isaac) Quaynor was really exciting, hes only played four games but looked like a veteran.
