It is so unbelievably special when our paramedics and emergency medical dispatchers get to witness such a positive outcome to any patient, let alone a patient that had as dire an outcome as this one.
Andrew Pink was told by doctors there was a very high possibility he would be a quadriplegic and never walk again after a surfing incident left him paralysed in January this year.
Today, with his family by his side, Andrew’s strength and determination to overcome the odds shone through as he proudly walked into the Noosa Heads Ambulance Station and thanked the paramedics that treated him that day.
For our crews to know they played an early role in identifying the seriousness of Andrew’s injuries, and to see his resilience in overcoming that diagnosis is truly heart-warming.
