Is going all in on passive investing a super idea? – The Australian Financial Review
Experts agree the government’s proposed super fund performance test would favour index-tracking investments, but are split on whether that’s good for members.

Partly that is because experts in the notoriously complex system can barely agree on what makes a good super fund, with research and ratings houses all employing their own different methodologies.
But the government has said it will push ahead with the policy and the methodology it believes is best, regardless of the controversy it expects will follow.
That methodology closely based on an equation developed by the Productivity Commission will involve super funds being benchmarked in each asset class…
