Newcastle looks set to rest superstar fullback Kalyn Ponga and the club seems concerned over some of the treatment the 22-year-old fullback is copping from rivals.
The revelation comes after Sharks halfback Chad Townsend accepted a three-week suspension for a blatant and brutal shoulder charge on the Knights No.1.
Townsend was also sent off for the act but he can consider himself lucky Ponga is not more seriously injured.
