iPhone ‘butt dial’ causes Tesla owner to accidentally buy thousands of dollars in upgrades – 7NEWS.com.au
‘This has been a nightmare. The customer service is horrendous.’
An American doctor has had a rude shock after accidentally purchasing a $6,000 upgrade for his Tesla Model 3 car.
On September 24, physician Ali Vaziri received a mobile phone alert from his bank, informing him he had just bought the upgrade, worth $US4,280 (AUD5,963).
The large transaction, he quickly surmised, was a butt dial made through the Tesla app on his iPhone.
My phone was in my jeans, Vaziri told CNBC.
I took it out, put it on this charger that comes with your Tesla and thats it.
