International trade is back, boosting optimism about a global recovery – Sydney Morning Herald
A flurry of recent trade data supports an optimistic view of the global economic recovery from the pandemic.
The recovery in exports, however, hasnt been confined to China. In the US, while the trade deficit increased in January as a result of record imports, exports rose 1.4 per cent to pre-pandemic levels and its overall trade numbers were the strongest in more than two years.
Thats despite weak service export numbers, with international trade in services severely disrupted by the restrictions on international travel.
