The price for the German-trained galloper has firmed from $51 into $18 over the weekend with the TAB who received a bet of $4000 on the lightly-raced stayer on Saturday.
German trainer Andreas Wohler and Australian Bloodstock combined for Melbourne Cup success in 2014 with Protectionist and the team are looking to strike again this year with Ashrun. Australian Bloodstock recently secured ownership in the lightly-raced stayer following his impressive second behind Call The Win in the Group Two Prix Kergorlay (3000m) in France.
With a trip to Australia confirmed, one punter placed $4000 on Ashrun over the weekend to win the Melbourne Cup at $51.
