Inflation anxiety an opportunity for investors – The Australian Financial Review
The debate between growth and value is taking a back seat as fund managers pounce on stocks that are being hit by inflation fears.
If a meaningful rise in consumer prices does occur, bullet-proofing a portfolio isnt as simple as just choosing value stocks, said Andrew Smith, head of smaller companies at Perennial Value Management.
Inflation does influence the cost and price of money and naturally pushes people towards cash flows that are more near-term, so yes, it pushes people towards more value style investments, Mr Smith said.
