Rising India star Washington Sundar has been stranded just short of a maiden Test century in heartbreaking fashion against England in Ahmedabad.
The talented 21-year-old all-rounder appeared to be cruising towards three figures in the fourth Test on day three as he shared in a crucial eighth wicket partnership of 106 with Axar Patel.
But what seemed a formality suddenly slipped away as the cricket gods decided it wasn’t to be.
