Indian cricket great Sachin Tendulkar hospitalised with COVID-19 as surging cases prompt lockdown warning

Indian cricket great Sachin Tendulkar says he has been admitted to hospital after contracting COVID-19 last week amid a surge of cases in the country.

Tendulkar, who turns 48 this month, was previously quarantining at home after testing positive following mild symptoms.

 “As a matter of abundant precaution under medical advice, I have been hospitalised,” he said on Twitter.

“I hope to be back home in a few days. Take care and stay safe everyone.”
