The last time there were no English, Italian, or Spanish sides in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, the competition wasn’t even known by that name.
Instead, in 1990-91, Europes premier knockout competition was known as the European Cup the final year of its existence before the rebranded and expanded Champions League was introduced.
