Jennifer Brady has led a touching yet light-hearted tribute to her mother after falling to Naomi Osaka in the Australian Open women’s final.
It was a tough first grand slam final outing for the American who was rolled in straight sets 6-4 6-3 in a dominant display by Osaka.
While Brady showed glimpses of brilliance, mainly in a brave first-set fight back, it was Osaka that that found her rhythm and moved away with her fourth grand slam crown in blustery conditions at Melbourne Park.
